AJ #17 Extremely Rare Blackamoor & 18K Brooch With Precious Stones C. 1875: The Blackamoor design are actually that of Venetian moors, the dark skinned Italians with very distinctive attributes. This example is a well dressed gentleman and the overall size is 1-1/4" x 2-1/2". This is very scarce and rare because of the design itself, that include this gentleman's well decorated vest coat. Most of the Blackamoor designs consist of only a head motif and hair and hat or cap ornamentation. This near mint condition piece features twenty-eight rose-cut diamonds, nine rubies, eight emeralds, one sapphire and one garnet.
