Frodsham, British work at its best! Each part of this watch is of the
highest standard; the balance is adjusted for temperature with the help
of gold screws, and the mean time is adjusted by four gold/platinum
nuts. The locking and impulse jewels are cut from a piece of sapphire.
The balance is supported by a piece of diamond and controlled by a rare
duo-in-uno hairspring. Frodsham considered the duo-in-uno spring, a
combination of helical and Breguet, the best of all shapes.
The case is remarkable in terms of the
way it utilizes winding and setting the watch, which is key wound and
key set. The crown is fixed with a key and has a special mechanism
holding it in the pendant. The owner needs just to push the crown in,
twist it 180 degrees counterclockwise, and the key pops out ready to
